Canada’s Osheaga festival has selected a slew of global hitmakers to headline this year’s edition, including Foo Fighters, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and A$AP Rocky.

Dua Lipa, Grimes, Flume, Maggie Rogers, Black Honey, Foxes, Wolf Alice, and Rita Ora have also been tapped to play the three-day festival, which takes place between August 1-3 in Montreal, Quebec.

The diverse lineup will draw on the festival’s eclectic musical roots, with acts performing on numerous stages on two of Montreal’s most popular summer weekends.

Canadian alt-rockers the Dead Weather, English indie-pop band Keane, singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett, Andrew Bird, grime-goth musical duo the 1975, Hozier, and Michael Kiwanuka are also set to perform.

“This year’s lineup is diverse, engaging and instantly recognizable; offering attendees the opportunity to experience a broad range of high-energy, modern music,” said Francois Cartier, founder and managing director of Festival Producers Inc., festival producer of Osheaga.

Osheaga is among a growing list of live music festivals experiencing a revival, following a wave of success from earlier years.

Held on the shores of Squamish Lake in Canada’s British Columbia province, the festival debuted in 1999, attracting a crowd of just 14,000 that now numbers over 200,000.

Unlike its sister festivals in England and Europe, which showcase established acts and established bands, Osheaga leans toward newer acts, after spotting a niche for up-and-coming artists during its early years.

This year’s line-up will include Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Andra Day, songwriter Ludwig Goransson, rapper A$AP Rocky, reggae-rock group the Aggrolites, Queens of the Stone Age drummer Nick Oliveri, the New Pornographers, and many more.

There are traditionally two stages each day, as well as the Swing stage, which can be found on Saturday, and the Queen stage on Sunday.

This year marks Osheaga’s 25th anniversary.

Some of the festival’s more notable highlights include Arcade Fire’s show in 2014, and 2015’s set by hip-hop legends Outkast.
